You can use your User Control Panel on the top left of the page and either choose an avatar from there or upload one. I think it must be max. 100x100 pixel.

I am not sure when I told you this but I am sure Hollandgirl is talking about her animated avatar and that she was not able to upload it. I am talking about the same thing as Hollandgirl. Are you talking about uploading animated images in threads or uploading an animated image as an avatar?

Are you talking about avatars?
Well, if you don't want to use one of our default avatars, you can google "avatars", and you'll get a lot of pages from where you can get them, (e.g. here http://www.avatarist.com/)

Save it to your pc, then go to User CP, choose Edit Avatar, and upload it there. Please read the note about the image size.

That's not a stupid question at all. ;) We all have to start somewhere, right? ;)

To upload an avatar from your own computer, you go to USER CP, then you click on EDIT AVATAR on the left hand side. It will show a list of all the preset avatars that are already there. However, if you want to upload one from your PC, then you want to scroll down to the small section that says, "Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer." Click on BROWSE. Then locate the pic you want to use on your computer. Be sure you selected the little bubble above that that says, "USE CUSTOM AVATAR" Once you have located your pic click on SAVE CHANGES. To upload an avatar from a link, you need to go to the user CP, then click on Edit Avatar, and enter there the link to the image (without the href tag, just the full link).

I am not sure if this has anything to do with this, but I saw you were not a full member yet because you didn't used the confirmation link that was sent to by email. I have confirmed you manually now. Please let us know if this solved it for you. :)

Edit: Just checked the settings for users awaiting email confirmation and it's true members in this usergroup cannot upload custom avatars.
Though if you still can't upload an avatar after all, please post again. :)

Why? You couldn't know only full members can upload custom avatars. I wasn't even sure at first myself. ;) Plus it could be you didn't receive the email with the confirmation link. Lately we quite some issues we the email notification system. :S

Yes, that's too big. It should be around 19.5 KB.
Either you can convert it, or try to upload it somewhere and enter the URL. :)

I can't seem to change my Avatar, the ones i have tried are 100x100 and under, and 7KB and under, but when i try to save them it tells me "Unable to save image" :? but not sure why it's not saving.

Hmm, I am getting the same message. Could be due the recent upgrades. We are going to look into it, and will inform the admin about it. If it has been resolved I, or any other mod, will post here. If it takes some time, we will post an announcement too.

We know that many of you would like to change your avatars back from Christmas, or get an avatar for New Year.
GamersHood is looking into this problem, but has not been able yet to fix it.
Please bear with us, we hope that it will work soon again. You will be informed here when the problem is solved. :)

I changed mine for Christmas with no problem, and then to a New Year one, and now can't get the old one back. But obviously it's a recent development, as I did the New Year's one only last week.
