stuck there as well. any hints anyone?

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 10:10 AM
i tried 9234 - 6701, that's 2542 that's 1 lower than 2543... but when you try 7343 - 1349 it's 5994 and that doesn't really look like 4949... so this means i have nu clue :(

Mystic

there seem to be a pattern with the last 2 digits (01 43 49 07)and i can find apattern of 36-48-36 between the first two digits but nothing seems to work.

ixnbkjkj
04-11-2006, 12:57 PM
well i dont know if this will work or not... but...

9243 6701 7343 1349 8807 3101 2543 4949 ____

7343...3 numbers inbetween...2543
1349...3 numbers inbetween...4949
8807...3 numbers inbetween...maybe this one is **07

its probably wrong but its all i can come up with

i helped sum1 ?? haha :P

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 03:36 PM
I've tried the alphabet backwards, but it doesn't make any sense?!?

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:36 PM
You think that one was hard, i haven't a baldy notion about the next one!!
Anyone got any clues???

which one do you mean?? the one with: JFQQBKP, OXFKAOLMP, XKA PKLT-
CIXHBP XOB GRPQ X CBT LC QEB QEFKDP or the one after this one??

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:37 PM
someone learned me, if you want to crack a code like this, u have to search for letters that are really normal like the 'e' or the 'a' i think the x is an a because there's a single x in the text somewhere and i can only think of it as being an a

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 03:38 PM
i haven't got past the one with the jfqqbkp oxfka........
I thought it could be the alphabet backwards, but alas i'm wrong again.
My brain hurts arghh :P

kathy
04-11-2006, 03:40 PM
the word spoiler in brackets [ ]
then the information
then the word /spoiler in brackets again [ ]
test

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 03:40 PM
Hey holland girl, did you also notice that the X and K are more faint than the rest of the text?

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:40 PM
haha :P well, maybe q is an e?? i don't know.. i only think q is an a,i,o,u or an e because it returns much

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:42 PM
hey u r right sexiidimps!! the same for the a and the c and the o... but i don't think the k is..

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:42 PM
but what to do with it??

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 03:44 PM
your guess is as good as mine.
i'm trying some search engines for clues, but nothing as yet.

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:46 PM
perhaps the sentence: ( Someday we're gonna' have to teach the "Brits" how to spell ) has something to do with it..

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:48 PM
maye LC is or.. i'm just guessing everything :P

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 03:50 PM
i'm sure it does, but how?
this is soooo hard

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:51 PM
i can't do this one.. my english is just not good enough for finding words in this code.. already found something sexiidimps?????

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:52 PM
yeah exactly, how!!

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:56 PM
it's something with the 'Brits' i think.. because it's between those brackets (dunno the word for it)

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 03:57 PM
Nope not a thing. The search engines are not much help either.
I'm gonna take a break for 10 mins, maybe it will become clear then :) fingers crossed anyway

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 03:59 PM
I think you are referring to quotation marks if you mean ' ' those little marks either side of the word Brits

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 03:59 PM
yeah i want a professional code-cracker in here :P haha gonna take a break too.. well not really a break actually it's more a break in playing the game, making space for some studying ;)

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:00 PM
I think you are referring to quotation marks if you mean ' ' those little marks either side of the word Brits

yes, that's exactly what i mean ;) thanks.. learned a new thing today :D :P

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:02 PM
Glad to be of help kiddo. :)

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:02 PM
hey i'm not a kiddo!! hah :P

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:05 PM
so you are a mature student then?

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:05 PM
naah i am a kiddo but i don't wanna be called one :P (i'm 13)

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:06 PM
this game is torture!! i need some caffine, back in 5 :P

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:07 PM
now you've made me feel really old.....

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:08 PM
how old are you then?? haha i think this talk is getting out of place.. gotta get back to the game!!

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:11 PM
maybe XKA = and ...

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:11 PM
totally agree, but if you really want to know.... 30
now back to the game, any more clues or ideas on how to solve this one, or should i just throw my PC out of the window????

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:13 PM
i think that's an option, the other one is just sitting here, waiting for some-one who knows the other one is just keep cracking our brains.. the last one is the most fun one, especially for your wallet ;)

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:14 PM
omg why did i write some-one like that.. that's really bad..

kathy
04-11-2006, 04:15 PM
got ityou were right x is a it's a plus three code, and they spell this word differently in britain than they do in the us

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:16 PM
okay thanks a lot :D

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:22 PM
right so it is:
'mittens, raindrops and snowflakes are just a few of the things' but what is mittens and what is the url??

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:22 PM
care to enlighten me a little more Kathy.
I think the 'XOB' is really 'and', am i on the right lines??

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:23 PM
nope XKA is and

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:24 PM
Mittens are gloves without fingers they have a pouch all your fingers go into together.... does that make any sense??

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:25 PM
just count the numbers, x = a, so it means they are 3 letters away from each other, start counting --> a plus three numbers makes d etc.

faroh
04-11-2006, 04:25 PM
Maybe it has something to do with winter

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:26 PM
Mittens are gloves without fingers they have a pouch all your fingers go into together.... does that make any sense??

why do i have a completely different sentence from you?? and what are mittens?? are they really gloves without fingers??

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:26 PM
aaahhhh, now i get it. Cheers :)

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:26 PM
you don't have a different sentence from me, i was just explaining what mittens are, as you didn't know :)

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:27 PM
Maybe it has something to do with winter

i don't think so, i think kathy is right, it has something to do with the english who spell a lot of words different from the usa

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:27 PM
you don't have a different sentence from me, i was just explaining what mittens are, as you didn't know :)

oooh haha i thought it was your sentence!!!! haha nvm

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:27 PM
anyhow, is that the whole url? cause it seems very long

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:28 PM
now.. what's the url!! hahaha we figured out the sentence, now the url...

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:28 PM
anyhow, is that the whole url? cause it seems very long
yeah me too i guess you have to find a world which explains the whole sentence or something

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:31 PM
but how do the british spell mittens, raindrops nd snowflakes then??

faroh
04-11-2006, 04:33 PM
I think i may be on to something

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:33 PM
being british myself, that's exactly how we spell mittens, raindrops and snowflakes.
this really has me baffled!!!

mandajean2001
04-11-2006, 04:34 PM
there's a word missing...from the "Sound of Music" i think it has something to do with how they spell favorite

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:37 PM
how do u know a word is missing?? i actually know british spell things different, like favorite (as you said) and colour(color) and so on..

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:39 PM
thanks for the hint manadajean2001, you're a star :)

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:40 PM

mandajean2001
04-11-2006, 04:41 PM
the word is favorite, regular english spelling

Sexiidimps
04-11-2006, 04:43 PM

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 04:46 PM

don't actually think so but it could be...

04-11-2006, 06:03 PM
the last one was a caesar cipher/rot. the decoding could be done by rotating the alphabet to find the key (in this case, 3 over where key=A,B,C,etc code=C,D,E,etc.) If that makes sense :D

anyhow, this one isn't a simple ROT... so i'll assume cryptogram. haven't figured it out yet though

Hollandgirl
04-11-2006, 08:14 PM
i tried.. but what do the numbers have to do with the letters?? does it mean y is the second letter in the aphabet? because that turns out strange.. and if it means it's 2 letters after y that makes a strange word too... they've said like 3 times to use the background to decode it from the top line etc etc but i just don't know what to do and won't know it until someone tells me exactly what to do...

Finally solved it and got the answer, even once you crack the code the answer isn't that easy to come by. However the next one absolutely makes me want to quit this game.
This one is a LOT easier than it looks to start with. Maybe the easiest of this whole game.

Strat
04-11-2006, 10:30 PM
Yes, I will:

each row of numbers in the backround have 14 digits that repeat and are unique to that line. Each letter in the gibberish corresponds consecutively with the rows of digits. You can only use the first 14 going left to right.

map out the letters in blocks of 14, continuing down the rows with each set of 14 letters and 14 numbers. You need another map of each letter of the alphabet and it's corresponding number, a=1, etc. so the first letter Y is 2 left of it's actual position because y and 2 are the first characters. The second letter in the gibberish is going to correspond the same way, however many characters left of the original position of the letter in the map.

If that doesn't make sense, here is the gist of the code. Don't read it if you don't want to know.

what is the largest number when multiplied by itself that gives you a nine digit number with all unique numbers (pandigital)

Took me most of the day off and on to map that and now I'm stuck again!
