Hello all! After finding a new game possibly created by Squid and Dukes, I've decided to post it. Maybe we can solve it to possibly help on Amnesya... who knows? Good luck on it (the theme is, obviously, hacking)! Begin Here... http://www.try2hack.eu/

I'm currently trapped on level three, and so are many others... tell me if that level is solved!

I am not sure how you mean I should go about doing that :S I did however notice
the url and thought there might be something there. So far, no luck! :(

EDIT: How in da... I made progress... but it's... not exactly a nice way ta make it :$ I have no idea how I got this progress :shy:

I am still stuck there too. Thought I had it... but I really didn't :shy: I kinda hacked into another version of this game instead :P
I think it is a matter of
downloading the swf file but the hard part is to find the strings after doing that. The latest version Adobe released makes it real hard ta find :S

Seriously, I feel I have to disagree. I put enough spoilers around the answers and gave differing levels of information. You dont have to open the spoilers, that is what they are designed for.

Are you really saying that all the people who play games on here will have the technical knowledge to ensure a download is safe, or a url can be figured out?

If Lilliput is having difficulties then I KNOW its not a simple game.

This is a hacking game that needs more tools than your average user has, even if they know what they are looking for.

Did you notice (at risk of upsetting others!)




the case of the letters.. 1 is different.
The server, being php, would be case sensitive, so I have tried all lower, all upper, opposite casing and all no luck.

Then I wondered about the word itself, seeing as the US has just been through one.. does that prompt any thoughts about a different url?

That is what I did. I downloaded but couldn't find a way to
decompile.
I have no idea how to do it so I give up :S

how is level 2 solved, By opening some flash file then looking inside it?
I can't even SEE a flash file in the source.

As ernouf has all ready explained, you have to
download and decompile the flash file to find a url
There is a need for a special program to do it and that is why I am gonna let go of this riddle. I don't want to have all sorts of new programs only to be able to solve a riddle.

I suggest to use the program : Sothink SWF Decompiler.
It really easy to use ;).

i cant even SEE a flash file to download.
does the creator of this not know flash/SWF isn't exactly an every day format most riddlers are used to dealing with?
i'll go no further eithere here, gets hugely marked down for expecting people to download a flash decompiler and know how to use it.

In order to see the flashfile
right click on the page (not the flash login) and select page information. Select media in the tabs and then look at the files listed. That is where you will find the swf file. Higlight the file and select "download" This works for me and I have FF :)

tried that, looked in the source. no SWF files listed. just CAB files.

opened it. found no useful information in it.
it appears to think username and username2 will work.
which is rubbish as the p/w is alpha only. Who beat this level?

Yeah, that is what I see.

For a while was playing with the thought of the protected excel sheet (which was a real pain to crack btw) being nothing more than an elaborate distraction... but I gave up that idea again. I kinda hope the creator made a mistake on this level :)

Its only protected by Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice doesn't use the same protection ;p

You may want to look behind the scenes on that file, a developers view helps.

i'm using an excel viewer, not excel - so i have zero clue what your talking about.

i dont have office. an excel viewer is all i have.
what more are you seeing in developer view then?
in the excel viewer all 3 folders are just blank.

It's a program that every computer has xD, you mostly put notes on it

Hey SpiritSoul, I'm hoping that you have got passed this level with that information.

Both Billesan and I have found content within the document which "another program" would not show. This appears to be key to altering what is seen in "another program" to another resulting destination by using a VB Sub.

I would be interested to hear if we have dug too deep.

Well, I can only view the level 3 file on notepad, but it looks like the URL I see is the only unusual thing there... does anyone notice ANYTHING else odd about this level?

There's more to it than that "useless url" that gives you a REAL-ish) URL. Somebody else in this thread already mentioned it. The problem is, that URL doesn't seem to work either.

Anybody get this one?

I believe there is either an error in the URL or it is so unbelievably out there that it can't be figured out anyway.


Downloaded the excel.zip
Extracted try2hack.xls
Removed VBA Password to view the Macro code
Added the following line to the try2hack()
Range("A1").Value = done //this will print the value of "done" in cell A1
Run the macro

ok yes i like to do this riddle and solve the whole thing and yes i like help on Level 2 if theres another way then just downloading the SWF. file (which i cant do) but seriously this is actually like hacking for me on level 2 cause im downloading a SWF. file when im not suppost to.

Seriously im not doing this so i gave up there. i dont even know why im even playing this. this was trying to make me a hacker. im not doing it.
