Rbud's "Christmas Present" Riddle

Hi, all!

I made a Christmas riddle, it's my first ever effort at creating a riddle.

It's just a simple dingbat/rebus picture riddle with 36 levels, and if you'd like to try it, here it is.

if you look in Wiki, it's not "r***top" in the title, the original title uses the name of the "structure" -

" ** on the h****top "

I see it can be the other way as well, but that's how I sang it as a kid.

it's what the cat is doing, it's st***ing its prey, and since it's wearing a Santa hat,
it would be a "Christmas st***ing" of course. ;)

This one's an old (and possibly somewhat crude) bad pun - someone sneaks up
behind you and gives you a little g**** to make you jump...? ;)

Okay, here goes.

For 14 -

It's a song title - the ^ arrow is pointing where, and it's "on the" what?

That's the tricky part, many know it as " ^ on the r**ftop" but it also is worded

" ** on the h**setop" (see the code? - "click, click, click - down through the chimney with..." )

For 30 -

The answer is a Christmas bird, but not a turkey, not a duck, not a chicken. See the date in the corner? You need the day in front of the bird.

The act being performed is called "g**sing" - when someone comes up behind you and pokes you in your behind (blush) to scare or surprise you. Double vowel for the ** - for the answer of

"christmasg**se"

That's what part of a cake? A p**ce.

sort of goes with 35. Common Christmas phrases.

It's a

Christmas song title. There's "a what in a where" ? Note the second "a" - not "the" - that might be the problem.

The "where" is usually a place where hay or other animal food is placed so that the animal can eat it, a synonym would be "trough" - but in this case, it's where a certain Baby was placed, and it was used as a cradle or crib, because His parents were "turned away from the inn" for lack of room.
