yes you would think that but it very easy i made a game where you have to guide a ball through a maze at high speed without touchingb the edges in a day

I think people have to download Game Maker version 6 aswell if they want to play it as it is not a stand alone version. Is this correct?

I'm not sure if it is available for the free version as I don't know this program. But obviously you can choose in the menu Files "Create Executable". This will make a stand alone game with the file extension .exe, that can be played by people without the need of downloading Game Maker.

This is just getting stupid.I'm wanting to make a game with gamemaker,but oh,i have to read a load of boring paragraphs that don't tell me anything just to know how to make one!A movie is alright for telling me how to make a game,but reading half a million words...Theres just no point!

Well, it always takes a lot of time and patience to get to know software (game making engines, 3D software etc.). I would suggest you to register to the Game Maker forums if you want to work with Game Maker or just look around for another game engine:

it's like hard to explain :S

GM is pretty easy though compared to others
but don't worry it's still confusing
but when you get it you will be making games like a fish swimming in water :)

I'm now working whit game maker, I work on a game whit a smiley in a world were all colors are stolen =) It's a platform game :P

You can make 3d games whit GM too! =)

and save it to your pc.
Then you need to rightclick the compressed folder (the pacdk273.zip) that you have saved and decompress it: Rightclick and choose "extract files". You should have a tool that makes it for you, and you will get a folder with the name "pacdk273"
To start the program, you have to doubleclick the file with the symbol P on a red background in that folder.

If you want a very easy program try clickteam's klikandplay program.
It's free, you don't need to be able to be a graphic designer,
you just drag the sprite or object onto the screen edit it's events and movement and you're good!
There are some downsides though I did create a platform game with 30 levels and I can't figure out a way to share it. So it's just for your own enjoyment.

You can just toy around with it, see how many things you can do when you use more advanced programs but nevertheless you can download it
