Do you mean 2D or 3D software?

Here are some freeware 3D programs that are not posted in the other thread yet (I can't tell you much about them, just that they work for ME and that they are free or have a free version):
http://www.amabilis.com/products.htm

amabilis looks more complicated,do you think now3D be useful in making a game?

You can use 2D or 3D for making games :)
It is usually more difficult to work with 3D programms, however since I can't draw, I decided to find a 3D programm and learn how to use it. But it took me several weeks to understand how things worked.

I can't give you an advice, since I have the impression that is a personal thing with what kind of program people like and can work :)

Is 2d part of paint and 3d is,well,3d?

Mistery

Well 2D means just 2 dimensional. You can do 2D artwork with Paint or with other software :)

Is Now3D safe to download (not mucking up PC) or not?:? :croc:

I don't know with which programm you had problems. All 3D software need a lot of memory space on the pc.

I haven't tried this software, so I can't tell you more about it :(

BeanMan3

I haven't used any software yet because I know that if I use it then everything will go mad and then my laptop will die. :( So I need to know if there are any safe to use ones. :(

Is memory the amount of disk space left?Because I've used about 5.4,with 13.2 disk space left

the space plays a part...

but windows ME is quite old so not many programs are made for it

In the minimal system requirements for any kind of software you usually see
- the operating system (e.g. Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP etc.)
- Processor in MHz or GHz
- Memory in RAM
- Hard Disk Space in MB or GB
and other necessary requirements like e.g. sound card, graphic card

BeanMan3

It doesn't show requirements for Now3D.:( And Amabilis is for XP and 2000 only...:(

YAY me have Now3D.Don't get it.What is rendering?

Mistery
12-30-2006, 11:27 PM
Rendering means that you let the program make the final picture of what you have made.
You make your 3D objects in the program, and when everything is done, you make a picture of it, that you can save as picture format (depending on your program .JPG or .BMP etc.).
Does this help, or is it not so clear?

Ok...I don't really know how to make an object...Wireframe?How do I make one?

Well, although most 3D programs are similar, they also have differencies. So I'm not sure if I can help you with creating objects with Now3D.

I would suggest you to read the Tutorials and Manual
http://www.now3d.it/Eng/
On the left you see "Using Now3D* and then click Manuals or Tutorials to go through the instructions. :)

Mistery

Yes, 3D software is not really good for older laptops and pc's.
Well, I know a lot of game creators who use 2D pictures, maybe you could try it, too?

BeanMan3

I can't use 2D,all my pictures on paint look scrummy.

Mistery
01-15-2007, 04:11 PM
What file type is it BeanMan?

BeanMan3
01-15-2007, 07:36 PM
You need to save your picture files as .jpg or .BMP or something similar after making them in Now3D. Maybe you find something in the instructions how to do it. It should be possible.

@Lilli
Again VERY funny :haha:
Thanks :hug2:
And bye, I hope to see you later dear :hug2:

Doesn't let me save as jpg or bmp

Mistery
01-15-2007, 07:39 PM
To my knowledge 3D programs should all have a function called "Render", that's when the program makes the screen. And usually you should be able to save your picture not only as a project with the file extension of your 3D program, but also as a picture with an often used file extension like .BMP or .JPG or .JPEG etc.
Hmmmmm, how do you view your screen in Now3D? Is there a "render" option?

BeanMan3
01-15-2007, 07:40 PM
Yeah,in fact there are 3

Mistery
01-15-2007, 07:42 PM
Yeah,in fact there are 3

Good. If you render your picture, you should have an option "Save as" where you might be able to choose the file format. Check this please :)

BeanMan3
01-15-2007, 07:50 PM
Yay.It works.:D:D:D:D

Mistery
01-15-2007, 08:56 PM
Well done! :D
I'm glad that it worked :)

Btw, I have moved our posts out of Chit Chat 2 because it fits better here ;)

If you have any questions about game developing issues, you can post here :)

BeanMan3
01-20-2007, 04:09 PM

It seems that you definitely need a newer pc if you would like to create games :S
