It seems like a nice point & click, I've done alot but am stuck, wish I know Danish..

I am also completely stuck.
I prepared the land for sowing or planting, helped with preparing a meal, I ate and now I am out of ideas. :thk:

Also I don't have a clue how to pass or distract the aggressive dog.

Same place as you Kyle, I gave them something but they still wont let me pass, wish I know what their saying..

Items I have so far:

clothes,water container,bucket,hose,food,shoe

Adventure: after you

eat.. you can go up that road by the donkey and explore all the places and pick up items, give to each person, just guess which is for who..lol..and also you might have to have second meal :)

go to where the lady is washing clothes, pick up cane and fill your water container, give cane to old man, he'll give you an axe? and go down arrow pass the sleeping man, use axe with hyena and after that pick up woods.

Malia, they are asking for something to tie the fabric together with. To get that you must first feed the little boy inside the house.

Heres a walkthrough for you guys to use :D
1. On the first screen collect the Pickaxe and the plant
2. Go into the hut and collect the school uniform, the water can and the tin from the sack.
3. Go back outside and drag the water can onto the little boy to give him a bath. He then disappears to go with his dog which allows you to pass on one of the other screens.
4. Go to the right and using the pickaxe, plough your garden.
5. After ploughing, collect the bucket and the wood.
6. Go to the right and collect the rope, you'll see the boy with the dog here.
7. You can move to the right again.
8. Use the rope to tie up the donkey. This allows you to move in that direction then.
9. Don't move just yet though. Get the blue mug and give it to the old lady.
10. Go back inside your hut and drag the wood into the oven.
11. Drag thr water to your moms bowl and then the tin can. She'll then cook a bread which you can click and eat.
12. Go back outide and then take the route north past the old lady's house.
13. Collect the shoe from the side of the road and then continue to the right.
14. Go past the old men to the right again.
15. Collect the sheet of iron and the other shoe (which is underneath the iron)
16. Go back left and then take the first route south left to the water tap.
17. You can only access this location if you have the shoes to stand on the rocky ground.
18. Collect the ribbons, the pipe and the walking stick.
19. Turn the tap on and then fill up the water can.
20. Go back to the old men and give one the walking stick, he'll give you a rattle in return.
21. Take the second route south right to where picking up wood is forbidden.
22. Go right twice to where the hyena is attacking the lady. Use the rattle to scare off the hyena. The old lady will give you a bag of seeds.
23. In the same scene, pick up all the pieces of wood until you can pick up the whole bundle.
24. Go back to the scene with the lady on the road and give her the bundle of sticks. She'll give you the other sack.
25. Go back to the old lady's house with the broken roof and use the iron to mend it.
26. Go back to the front of your house and put the plant in the red can then go to your garden and plant the seeds. Use the water to water them. They will grow a little but not all the way.
27. Go back to the hut and fill your moms bowl with the water and the sack of flour. She'll bake another bread.
28. Give the bread to your brother sitting on the stool and he'll give you some bands.
29. Go back to the scene with the two boys watching football.
30. Give them the ribbons and the bands so they can make a football. You can then pass further on to the right.
31. At the crossroads pick up the leaves and the grass.
32. Go to the north and then through the scary wood to the school.
33. You can only go in the school if you have the uniform. Collect the tripod outside the school first.
34. After the teacher has given you the lesson you can pick up the bracelet from the desk.
35. Pull down the screen to give you a clue to what you need to do. If you re-enter the school you can pick up a drawing of this plan.
36. Go back through the scary wood to the crossroads and go right.
37. Give the grass to the ox, and collect the manure he leaves in return!
38. Go right again. Give the bracelet to the tourist who'll give you some money in return.
39. Go right to the market. Give the stall holder the money and he'll give you some melon seeds.
40. Go back to the water tap and fill up the can.
41. Go all the way back to the hut.
42. Give you mom the leaves to make medicine tea for your ill brother. You'll then get a knife.
43. Go to your garden. Place the melon seeds and the manure on the garden.
44. Assemble the tripod, the bucket and the hose together.
45. Use the knife to put some holes in the hose.
46. Empty the water can into the bucket and the garden will bloom!

Okay I promised to explain the story and dialogue in this game, so it's about time to do that.

First of all a little background story. This game is part of a Danish tradition called christmas calendars. It's our way of counting down for christmas, you have a calendar made out of cardboard or plastic, sometimes with chocolate inside, that consists of 24 doors and you open a door from the 1st till the 24th December.

Along with these christmas calendars there are also christmas calendar on TV. A daily program lasting a half hour, with some kind of story regarding christmas in some way and it is split up into those 24 days so you will see an episode each day, sort of like the series 24 hours in a way, a continued story that is.

On the two main Danish channels there are two of these shows each, one for children and one for adults, so a total of 4. Along with the 2 shows for children also comes a christmas calendar as mentioned above so you can open a door each day and see what will happen in the episode at night.

No matter what the story will be like, with one of these childrens versions there will be a christmas calendar with the benefit that the profits from the sale of it will go to some kind of charity, usually something in Africa. This year you support children in Ethiopia by buying this particular christmas calendar.

And that leads us to the game. It is connected to the advertising campaign behind this calendar and charity, and tells the story of a family in Ethiopia. Uland is the Danish word for a third world country, spillet just means the game, so it is called The third world country game, directly translated.

The main character is a 10 year old girl called Tirsit. She lives with her mother and 3 siblings in Ethiopia. She is helping her mother out with the gardening work, and it is time for harvesting the cabbage which is what they live off, selling the cabbage at the downtown market. She is happy that they can have something else to eat than the flat bread her sister makes, because although they have to sell most of the cabbage, her mother lets them eat a little of the cabbage.

At night the entire family suddenly wokes up from their sleep when they hear a weird, frightening sound outside from the garden. Tirsit is afraid to go out and see what it is. When they get up the next morning they discover that it is a lot worse than the frightening sounds from last night. Their garden has been completely destroyed.

The mother is very sad, because now she has to leave her children and go to the town to work day and night to earn money for the family to live for. So Tirsit has to take care of the house and her siblings. But how is she going to have time to go to school now? And what about the garden? She also has to do something about that. So she needs all the help she can get.

And this is where the game starts. The dialogues are also in Danish so that's a bit much to translate. But the first thing she says is just for you to pick up the flowers and put them in red can, this is to make you familar with how to work with the objects in this game.

In order to clean up the garden and get vegetables again so your mother can come home there are a lot of other things you have to do in the proces, like learn how to irrigate the field and grow proper vegetables, save a woman from the hyenas, help out your family and so on.

this is a very nice game. I had to look at the walk though once because I was stuck but once I started over and realized that things had to be done in order the game made more since. Also although I didn't understand the language spoken, if you pay attention to the intros you'll understand/appreciate the game sooo much more.

yeah cute game - if it wuz translated with subtitles or an english dub it would have been more fun and more informative anyways THANX THEME for giving us the story background - and of course - couldnt do it without walkthrough - THANX KYLE
