hey there people... im a noob to flash game creation and only been coding for a month and figured the easiest game type i cud try coding for is a point and click puzzle escape game.

This was the result of my bordem its called 'InCoGnItUs: Proximity Of Doom' point of the game is to escape the room before the timer reaches zero. Ive already had it tested by my classmates so i think there arnt any glitchs but if anyone finds any please let me know!

There is one known recurring glitch but it happens very rarely when the objects may move frame by frame in what should be a animation if this happens simply refresh the game and it will be fine...

thanks for reply no that is actually part of the game just one of the little puzzles to be figured out... good luck of course bare in mind if ur stuck somewhere its probably not a glitch as im am almost 100% sure the frame by frame one is the only one left but i designed the game to be fairly hard but still possible to complete as far as im aware out of 18 people in my class only 1 has managed to escape the room so far and it took him a fair while but if your a logical thinker and pro at escape games this should be a walk in the park xD

So far I have...

a newspaper article about drunk squirrels, a pair of pliers, a coin, a key, an id card and a power cable...can't figure out how to do the puzzle on the safe and have NO CLUE on the monitor situation

AWESOME GAME!!! Now, I just hope I can escape!!!

now I have a knob off of the bedpost...

okay, figured out that you can put the key into the slot on the safe, then put the coin in the hole that is in the box on the floor between the safe and the electrical outlet...this then allows the lights on the safe to change, but I haven't figured out the code yet to open it...

giving up for now...will try again later!!!

its absolutly amazing how many ppl havent made it past that bsod screen i had a programmer on another forum who got stumped and gave up id love to tell you really but i cant good luck ppl...

okay...so the monitor says "Press any key to continue" and then it says "Where's the any key?" and "Just smash head of keyboard to continue" I have pressed EVERY key on my keyboard...I have even spelled out "any key" ...and NOTHING...with regards to smashing the keyboard...can't even see the keyboard on the screen, so I can't smash it...but I have tried to use the bedpost thingy to beat the screen, to no avail...

about ready to actually beat my own keyboard here...

can't you just tell us if it actually involves using our keyboard or not??? this riddle is KILLING me here...I'm a blonde, my brain can't take much more!!! LOL

ok so after that other guy cheated ill regarded that as a glitch and have now disabled the context menu... i really cant tell you how to get off that screen it would defy the point of a puzzle escape game however the clue is right there and i dont mean the smash head of keyboard to continue i just put that in there for the fun of it lol but its there...

You don't have to do anything with the computer nor the safe to escape the room. I thought the safe code was related with colors of the books in the bookcase or the birthday date on the ID card. But apparently I was wrong. :wht: I am even getting suspicious that the computer and the safe are just red herrings drive us :crazy:

okay, what is with the phone like thing on top of the dresser beside the door? I can't click on it at all...but I seriously don't think you just put it there for decoration...is there a way to use it???

I feel like there should be a screwdriver somewhere so that I can take the cover off of the timer in the drawer...just can't seem to figure it out...

ye the problem with vista is the OpenGL support is crap making it practically impossible to run any games smoothly that require it but its just far to buggy give it 6 months and it shud be all gravy (not to be taken literally) lol

I have found that to get the knob off the bedpost, you can't do it at the same time that you get the pliers and the coin...you have to move around the room a few times and then go back to get the knob...also, try having the pliers clicked on in your inventory to get it ;)

sadly...I have to stop trying for now...I will try again later tonight after my children are in bed...

If you look closely at the key by the bomb, you will see a year. (First you could zoom in, but the options of the right mouse button are disabled). The year is a hint to look at the ID card. Look at the birthday on the ID card. Apply this to the knobs on the top. After this press the red button and if you have done it all right, you should be able to collect the golden key. ;)

Well I'm sorry for raining on your parade Pocoster but thies ppl need my help and since I was the one to post the walkthrough at blogspot I geuss I need to post one here too lol :evilSMILE:

Turn on the light first little grey square
Turn left and click about 1 CM above the floor on the right side of the dresser get the filer
Return to the game then click the second drawer on the dresser then click the dark area and it will show you the pliers click on them
Now click on the pliers in your inventory then click the bed post the ball thingy now make sure you click the skinny part NOT the ball and you have to click a few times before it falls down then pick it up off the floor
Then use the pliers to cut the second pendilum on the clock the silver thing
Now time to make a screwdriver do this by clicking the silver pendilum and click the bed post knob and they will combine then click on the filer and click the new rod you just made and TA DA you have a screwdriver
Move right two times click on the bottom drawer of the computer desk just above the handle may take a few times it will open and click the dark area and it shows you the bomb
Now take your new screwdriver and unscrew the four screws then click the panel and the cover moves to the side. On the top of it you will see three knobs with numbers on then leave the first where its at click the second one once and the third one twice click the red button and get the key use the key on the door and your done. See you didn't need all those other things lol it took me forever to figure it out so its one heck of a game

The file is behind the closet, (wherein you found the pliers). When you view the screen with the clock and the closet, click near to the right side of the closet, a bit below. You just have to click mutliple times around that area, but eventually you can look behind it.
It’s in the clock. Check the newspaper for the time and set the hands on the clock on that time. There will appear a square on the clock. Click on it and you can collect the coin.

Press the keys: a,n,y all at the same time and you are able to move back to the room.
Place the coin in the wire of the safe. Investigate the colored words or parts of sentences on the computer screen. They give you the order of colors for the safe’s lock. Use the silver key to open the safe.
The numbers are quite unclear, so the correct numbers are: 2-4125. A-Z tells you what to do with it. If you have done it correctly it will provide you a hint what to do with the bomb.

while you don't actually have to solve all of the puzzles to complete the game...I strongly recommend that you try them because it's a really cool game and solving the puzzles is 99% of the fun!!! getting out being the last 1% haha!

AWESOME GAME! Best room escapes ever. I completed it with cheating. So here is my version of walkthrough:

Plus why the hell shud a programmer spend all of his precious time and money to make a game that can be completed under 2 minutes, he would get completley slated for makin a pointless game, people play game for the enjoyment factor and for them to be a ,long experiance, otherwise its just noobish. your feelings are probably ryt then ive said before i dont make thses games to be completed on the first or second attempt even the third, theres two types of gamers those who refuse to stop until they crack the puzzle even if they have to return to it at a later date they still do it.. then theres the second type of gamer who gets frustrated because the game isnt easy enough for them to do first time or the second time etc... and they give up and most likely get in a mood and say the game is to hard or boring... you my friend are the second type of gamer ill say cheers for this because it will go down well in my research for my college work :D merci

I can't say this would the best game ever...
I like these escape games and I like logic; but I don't like clicking many times the same point, nothing happens and without the logic, to find another necessary item, suddenly the point works. When logic an find items are combined I prefer an easier finding of the bricks for the clues, even when the clues are the center of the game.

I played this game, it is a good game, but it is not the bestone.
